A tribute to Trevor Gordon
THE Killarney Lions Club and Killarney First Responders made presentations to Trevor Gordon on his retirement from the Queensland Police Force and his 25 years of service to the Killarney district.
Mr Gordon, who was awarded the Killarney Lions Australia Day Award in 2013 for his pistol shooting, has been an able hand when needed by the Lions Club each year.
Killarney Lions club charter member Keith Murphy thanked Mr Gordon for his help over the year and wished him and his wife Liz all the best in his retirement as they move to their block of ground just west of Warwick.
The Lions Club presented the couple with a framed aerial picture of Killarney and the three water falls.
Also recognising Mr Gordon for his assistance to the community was the Killarney First Responders.
The Killarney First Responders, which uses a room at the police station as its base, presented him with a first aid kit.
A First Responders spokesperson thanked Mr Gordon for his assistance in gaining the use of the office space and for his help during the past seven years.
The First Responders had a lot of dealings with the local police on some of its callouts and having someone like Mr Gordon around helped make the job easy.
