Acker's legacy to live on for one special little boy

JAMES Ackerman's six-year-old son Olliver and a liver recipient will deliver the match ball tonight to the NRL trial game on the Sunshine Coast.

Organ donor Olliver Ackerman and liver recipient, Ipswich's Max Bishop will walk out together for the Canterbury Bulldogs and Canberra Raiders trial.

Max, 6, is a massive Bulldogs fan and is extremely excited to deliver the ball to his idols. He received a new liver in 2016 thanks to a generous donor.

Prior to that he had suddenly become unwell and was diagnosed with a rare syndrome, needing a new liver.

Olliver is a brave young man who tragically lost his father in a football accident. James went on to become an organ donor and his family have set up Acker's Legacy in his memory.

You can become an Australian organ donor by registering at www.donatelife.gov.au.
