Action! Film shot in Allora reels in extra fun time
ADULTS and children from Warwick and Allora put their acting skills to the test this week taking on roles as extras in the short film shot in Allora.
The film, titled OUROBOROS, is the project of a group of Griffith University film students and features scenes filmed at Jenco Feeds and Seeds Yards and in Herbert St.
When the call for extras was put out, the Latchams thought it would be fun to get involved.
"Mum and dad have been in a commercial before," 10-year-old Abbigail Latcham said.
"And mum thought it would be cool if we could be extras in a movie."
Abbigail, along with her sister Carissa and mother Camelle, all run to the aid of one of the main characters, Marie, after she is involved in a car accident.
Joining them in the scene is Warwickite Glynis Quinnelle and her two grandchildren Taylor and Clancie Mauch.
Taylor said being on a movie set was an "awesome experience".
"My grandma thought it would be good for us to come along and see what it was like to be in a movie," she said.
"It has been really fun."
For Cara Jarrett the experience has given her an insight into the work that goes into making a film.
"I have a new understanding and appreciation of how hard it is to make a movie," she said.
"I didn't know how many times they had to shoot a scene and how hard it was to do everything the same every time."
Filming wrapped up on Thursday afternoon and co-producer Louise Hales said it had been a successful three days.
"The St Patrick's school students came down and had a look and they all got to have a go with the clapper, what we use to mark the scenes," she said.
Ms Hales said once the movie was put together, they would hold a community screening in Allora early next year.
