Adult Doubles Day this Sunday

ONE newly re-surfaced artificial grass court will be available for use when the Warwick Tennis Association hosts its Adult Doubles Day on Sunday.

Association coach Christopher Hoffman said patrons would notice that court seven had been re-surfaced with sand filled artificial grass.

“We also upgraded the net posts and net,” Hoffman said.

“The heritage-listed grandstand has also just had the seating replaced and painted and is now re-open for use, after being closed off for well over a year.”

As always, the association is hoping to attract past, current and new players for the Adult Tennis Day on Sunday, one of a number of special promotions during the year.

Players can register for Adult Doubles Day from 2.30pm Sunday at the courts in Fitzroy Street with play from 3pm to 5pm.

Each player will be involved in four 30-minute doubles matches. After each match, players will be paired with a different player against different opposition.

Cost is $7 a player. A barbecue will follow.

The day is open to players, 18 years and over.

There is no need to RSVP but more information is available from Hoffman at tennis headquarters on 4661 5253 or 0413 592 471.

Junior fixtures are played each Saturday with different competitions for summer and winter.
