St Kilda forward Ahmed Saad faces two-year ban

ST KILDA forward Ahmed Saad faces the prospect of being banned for two years with the AFL investigating whether he took a banned substance.

Neither the club nor the AFL were commenting yesterday on reports the 22-year-old had returned an irregular sample to a drug test within the last month.

The news comes as ASADA prepares to hand down its findings into an investigation of Essendon's 2012 supplements program.

Bombers management yesterday hit back at claims by former high performance manager Dean Robinson that the club had employed controversial sports scientist Stephen Dank to run the program as a "black ops" or covert operation.

Robinson told the Seven Network in an interview due to air last night, that coach James Hird and football manager Danny Corcoran had been present when the role was discussed with Dank, who allegedly responded by saying, "What you are asking me to do is black ops,"Robinson said.

The club issued a statement in response to Robinson's claims which read: "This is nonsense and categorically rejected by the club. This assertion is slanderous."
