Air rifle shooting now first Sunday of each month

THE Warwick Sporting Shooters (SSAA) branch intends to run an air rifle event on the first Sunday of each month.

It will be shot at 25 yards with four targets - 10 shots per target with a maximum possible score of 400.

Shooters will have a maximum 40 shots per match plus sighters.

Warm-up sighter target prior to match commences for 15 minutes.

The time allowed for the main match will be 60 minutes.

Any type of air rifle permitted including break barrel, underlever, side lever and pcp.

Branch liaison officer Steven Kasper said any power scopes were permitted.

"The event is open to all shooters and will be regarded as the WAGS, Warwick Air Rifle Group Shooters," Kasper said.

"Our shoot at the weekend was in windy conditions with a chilly south-wester but was still enjoyed by all."
