Aleesha TRL Ambassador of the Year

AFTER raising $22,000 for the Warwick Cowboys during the 2013 season, Aleesha Friedrichs has won the TRL Ambassador of the Year award.

Each club nominated one ambassador with the winner chosen by a panel of judges after an interview at last weekend's games and on-stage interview by Geoff McDonald during the presentation evening at Rumours in Toowoomba on Friday night.

"Winning hasn't really sunk in yet," Aleesha said.

"I think it will sink in when all the entrants enter the stadium for the pre-game parade at the grand finals on Sunday," she said.

"Being involved with the Cowboys has allowed me to meet a lot of new people and find out what goes on behind the scenes and raise much-needed funds for the club."

Her brother Ayrton Friedrichs will play for the Cowboys under-18 side in Sunday's grand final.

Aleesha started fundraising in March and ran raffles at each home game during the season as well as a quirky mock deb ball and an auction at the club reunion.

"While it wasn't a fundraiser, we organised a blood drive to boost interest in donating blood," she said.

"I received great support from everyone at the club. It was no trouble for everyone to help me out."

Aleesha was the second Cowboys winner in two years after Bec Horne won last year, so it was one Cowboys ambassador crowning another on Friday night.

The TRL Charity Ambassador was Allycia Munro from the Gatton club who raised $32,000.
