All aboard for a journey on the historic steam train

IT IS not too late to jump on board the historic steam train and take a relaxing trip through the Southern Downs tomorrow.

"It is a fantastic trip," Southern Downs Steam Railway President John Brady said.

"It goes up through the range to Dalveen.

"There are some fantastic views; you can even see the Connolly Dam from the range.

"When we reach the summit, the highest point in South East Queensland it is amazing."

Committee manager and carriage attendant Lindsay Mills said there would be food and snacks available along the way.

"For a small cost there are snacks available on the train and lunch at the Wallangarra refreshment room," he said.

"It is a full day trip and it is an enjoyable day out.

"For those looking for a shorter trip we are making trips to Clifton on December 8 and 15."

Book a seat at 4661 9788 or arrive at the railway station at 7.30am for an 8am departure tomorrow.
