All I want for Xmas is a property bargain
HIT pause on decking the halls and hightail it to some home inspections this month as lower buying competition and motivated Christmas vendors put bargain hunters in the hot seat.
Warwick agents say savvy home buyers search when their cashed-up competitors are on the sidelines in holiday mode - that's this month and January.
"Despite popular perception, Christmas is a very busy time for both buyers and sellers," Brent Bowles from Southern Downs Realty says.
"For investors, buying now means settlement will be in the new year - a peak rental period.
"Owner-occupiers often like to move in to a new property early in the year too before their children start school."
Mr Bowles says buying on the Southern Downs has hit a high note in November and December.
"There have been some exceptional listings on the market lately which has led to strong turnover finishing off the year.
"It has been busy right across the spectrum from the lower budgets to above $600,000."
So it seems potential buyers hold the cards right now, lets go shopping. At $300,000 or less, you could be the new owner of one of these Warwick homes.
