All round class act secures victory

MICHAEL Bourke starred with bat and ball to steer Maryvale to a two-wicket victory against Allora in Condamine Cup cricket at Slade Park on Saturday.

Allora batted first to score 161, Steven Hughes top scoring with 43.

Michael Bourke took 4-27 off eight overs.

In reply, Maryvale scored the winning runs on the back of the batting of the Bourke cousins, Michael, 48, and Paul an unbeaten 37.

Kris McLennan was the best Allora bowler with 3-21 off eight overs.

Despite being a batsman who occasionally bowls, Brendan Malone starred with 4-8 off six overs in his side's nine-wicket victory at Slade Park yesterday.

Winning the toss and batting, Sovereign Animals, playing three men short, were dismissed for 32.

Brad Johnson top scored with eight.

In reply, Wheatvale had scored the winning runs when Brayden Hockings was bowled for 15 after adding 39 with Morgan Taylor.

Warwick Hotel Colts forfeited to Inglewood in the third game of the round.

No cricket will be played this weekend due to the Warwick Rodeo. Representative teams for November 4 games against Lockyer will be named within the next week.
