All-rounder is the full package

CRICKET: If cricket is about the complete package, RSL Diggers all-rounder Jamie Saunders has it in abundance.

He has scored the most points in the first four club rounds of the season in the battle for the Condamine Sports Club Cricketer of the Week award.

Saunders was a batsman/keeper when he went to play in England in the Australian winter and returned a batsman/keeper/spinner.

You can add fieldsman as well as Saunders took one catch for 15 points and threw the ball for two run-outs at 15 points each in his side's win against Sovereign Animals in the last Warwick club round.

He took 4-18 with the ball for 80 points and made 29 for a total of 154.

The next highest points scorer for a cricketer of the week was Shaun O'Leary with 148 from 38 runs, four wickets, a catch and a stumping.

Inglewood all-rounder Wayne Fearby won in the second game of the season with 95 runs, two catches and one wicket for 145 points.

The only player to win with success in just one facet of the game was Tony Munro, of Sovereign Animals, who hit 139 in round 1.

The winner of each weekly award receives a $50 open order from the Condamine Sports Club.

All four Warwick club games will be played on Saturday with Warwick away in two representative games to Stanthorpe on Sunday.
