Friday 17th: Our club's Christmas party. Members attending are asked to please add their name/s to the Christmas invitation poster inside the front door. Numbers are required by today for catering. We will have The Grumps playing their wonderful music, singing songs we will all remember and dancing. A delicious buffet prepared by the members will be served. So get your names down and come along by 6.30pm and make it as successful as last year's party. There will be ham raffles and more.

Sunday 19th: Ken O'Dea Floor Coverings are sponsoring a mixed triples bowls afternoon, thanks to Ken.

Warwick East Bowls Club
A NUMBER of regular bowlers were away last weekend. However there was a game of pairs played, with individual scores kept. Jack Durkin 13, Bill Lee 19, Vic Nelson 21 and the winner Peter Dippelsman 27. The jackpot did not go off so the prize pool is growing.
Social bowls again next Saturday at 3pm.
Plans are well under way for Sunday, November 19's Men's Carnival, which promises to be the best held for some time. Help is needed at the club on Saturday at 10am for the last-minute preparations so please lend your support. The carnival starts with morning tea at 8.30am, play at 9am. Three rounds of 16 ends will be played and presentations will be made after the third round. Thanks to the ladies for their catering of the carnival.
Southern Cross Bowls Club
OUR members enjoyed the Melbourne Cup bowls day and mouth-watering luncheon last week. Bill Lee and Cheryl Wickham were our best dressed man and lady. The winning team was B O'Brien, CWickham and K Mooney and the runners-up were V Gray, CHope and C Sawyer. The patchwork quilt raffle winner was Caitlin McConville. Thank you to our ladies for the beautiful salads and sweets.
It was great to see a full green for our turkey triples last Wednesday. We welcomed teams from Clifton and Tenterfield. The winners on 26 points were D Weier, Y Reid and M O'Leary and runners-up were P Klowss, L Hartley and VGray 23.5 points.

On Sunday the 19th the club will host the RSL Downs Diggers for bowls from 10am-noon followed by lunch and afternoon bowls for those who wish to enjoy another game. It would help to have your names in by Thursday for catering purposes.

Tannymorel Bowls Club
What a week we have had at the club, with the final round of the Tanny Classic played on Friday night, followed by the Jackie Bunch Memorial Bowls Day Cancer Fundraiser on Saturday afternoon and night. Friday night Bretto Grayson claimed the crown of the Classic Winners with 21 points and he sure is telling everyone he is the champ, he is even wearing a cap that says No. 1, go Bretto. Taking 2nd prize money was Lyn Coleman and Mick O'Leary with 3rd prize going to "The Young Gun” Taylah Hoffman and Aaron McKinney. Great effort to the non-bowlers Bretto, Lyn & Taylor. They showed the bowlers how to do it, poor ole Sue took the horses butt prize.

Saturday 11/11/2017, was Jackie's Day and what a great day was had by all with 66 bowlers turning up for a beautiful meal, plenty of prizes in the multi-draw and heaps of great gear for auction. Well done to Ray, Monique & Megan you did a brilliant job. Jackie would have been so proud. To everyone who turned up you were all winners and there were no losers on the day. To everyone who purchased tickets, the girls in the kitchen and anyone who helped on the day, thanks very much for making this a wonderful day.

Langham Slashers Golf
ON SUNDAY a small field played for the Rose City Premium Meats-sponsored day. Gerry Morrisey won the day with a nett 30, one shot in front of runner-up Greg Owens on nett 31. Brett Donovon had the best gross for the day with a 46 off the bat, Brendan Landrigan had the least putts, only needing 14 putts in his nine holes, Dave Speedy, Keith Clarke and Gerry Morrisey shared the pins and Graham Olsen hit the longest drive of the day. Next Sunday we will play the front nine.
Allora Golf
NO RESULTS for last Friday Percy's Fruit Duckrun, once the rains came people headed for cover. With a group of players heading to Goombungee for their open we played for club trophies, the results will be in next week's notes.
This Friday the Percy's Fruit-sponsored Duckrun will tee from 2pm, all welcome to attend.
Sunday will be our open day, it a single stroke event in all grades for ladies and men proudly sponsored by Denny Engineering, City Golf club, Eziali Excavations, Sam Eaves Golf, Darwalla Milling Co and Rural Maintenance Guy.
The Ken Wilson Cup will be awarded to best stableford score. This is a great award and last year's winner, Bazz Brown, is desperate to hold on to the trophy. Sam Eaves Golf Pop Up Pro Shop will be there. Monster raffle, with the main prize golf and accommodation for two at Kooralbyn Resort. Carts to hire. $25 entry, lunch and bar snacks provided. LAST Wednesday we had 29 playing in the Lara Farrell- sponsored single stroke. Lara's day was postponed due to wet weather in October and it was a pleasure to welcome Lara to our presentation on Saturday to congratulate Judy Lester on her fantastic score of 68 nett. The runner-up was Dianne Evans, who also had a good score of 70. Majella Kahler won the all-in pin on 13, with Janine Stewart, Patti Hemmings and Gwen Porter winning the graded pin on the seventh. The remainder: Mary Young, Zel Crook 71, Patsy McIntosh, Vicki Bennett 73, who all won a ball in the run down, Gwen Porter, Janine Stewart 75, Annice Payne, Majella Kahler, Melanie McLennan, Ellie Casey, Joan Burt, Yvonne Pinington, Patti Hemmings, Marg Adcock 76, Judy Stiff, Janet Davis 77, Joy Bowles, Anna Cox, Patricia Eastwell, Tub Ingall 78, Marge Burley, Janet Aspinall, Marlene Vincent, Jan Maher, Gill Young, Jean Fysh and Helen Olsen.
On Saturday we played an aggregate stableford, sponsored by valued members Trish and Ross Bell Butchers. Trish and Ross provided vouchers to the winning pair and runners-up. It was great to see Anne Lyons partner with Mary Young to have a combined score of 75, with Anne having a great score of 42 stableford. Mary also had another good game with 33. The runners-up were Tub Ingall and Pamela Kerr on 72. Marg Adcock took the pin on the 11th. The graded pin was on the fifth and that saw Mary, Danielle Seibel and Patricia Eastwell take that pin. The teams that won a ball in the run down were Gail Watts and Judy Lester and Anna Cox and Dianne Evans both with 70.

All the ladies at presentation were able to view the new team shirt that will be worn for pennants and open days next year. You are welcome to buy one even if you do not intend to play these days. The shirts are in the ladies' room and there is a form to leave your name and size. We would like to get orders finalised with Kim by Saturday.
