Allman Park race meeting in a week

THE Warwick Turf Club will have a memorial race day next Saturday to remember five well known race enthusiasts.

The January 27 meeting will have a five-race card and free admission to cricketers wearing their team shirts from the Condamine Sports Club Warwick Australia Day Cricket Carnival.

Teams which play the first two games of the round robin on Saturday will be finished game 2 around 2.15pm so some will take the opportunity to head to the races.

Warwick has five meetings allocated for the second half of the racing year which ends on June 30.

Polocrosse games

PLAYERS in the Australian polocrosse open squads will head to Albury on April 20-22 to play inter-squad games as part of the Australian Polocrosse Junior Classic weekend.

There will be plenty at stake with an Australian mixed team to tour Zambia mid year to be named after Albury.

The Albury carnival is two weeks before the Barastoc Interstate Series and Shell Cup in Warwick. Gold Coast official Christine Franklin is the new president of Queensland Polocrosse Association. Bill Kerr from Cunningham is on the board.
