Allora Cup and craft market is next Warwick race meeting
RACING: The Warwick Turf Club will hold a craft market for the first time in recent years at its next meeting in September.
The Allora Cup meeting is on September 16 and will be a five-race card.
Club president Phil Grant said the club decided to do something a little different by introducing craft markets in the leadup to the September race meeting at Allman Park.
"The plan is for the craft markets to continue to the first race,” he said.
A group from Wattles Rugby League Club will be at the Allora Cup and the turf club wants the cup day to have activities for all the family.
There will be cooking demonstrations, a jumping castle, face painting and many other stalls to give the day a real family atmosphere.
Admission to the race day will be free due to sponsorship from Allora Butchery and the cup will be sponsored by the Railway Hotel at Allora. There will be Allora sponsors for each race.

The Warwick Turf Club has ordered a new tractor from Southern Downs Ag which will be delivered well before the September meeting.
"The tractor has been purchased from a Community Gaming Machine Benefit Fund grant of $35,000. It will be used for slashing and track maintenance,” Grant said.
"There is work to do on the sand training track every day.”
The Warwick Turf Club has been allocated three TAB meetings and five non-TAB meetings this racing year and Grant said the club was always willing to host additional meetings.
"There is still a possibility of securing another TAB meeting when Racing Queensland decides the track needs resting,” Grant said.
The club is writing to all members seeking them to join for the 2017-2018 year.
Membership of $75 and $37.50 concession entitles members to free admission to all race meetings at a number of tracks, including Warwick and Gold Coast.
TAB meetings for the year are the Warwick Credit Union Warwick Cup on October 14, Boxing Day on December 26 and the St Mary's School TAB meeting on February 17.
