Allora swimmers contest titles

SEVENTEEN Allora Swimming Club members will head to primary and secondary school championships in the next week.

The Darling Downs Regional Secondary School Swimming Championships are at Milne Bay Pool, Toowoomba, today and the primary school championships at Gatton on Wednesday.

Swimmers have a chance to make regional teams to contest state championships.

The Allora qualifiers for the secondary titles are: Anthony Bannister, Matthew Denny, Ally and Jess Van Der Poel, Brianna Perry, Zack Pout and Sarah Marshall.

On Wednesday the Allora contingent at Gatton includes: Lachlan Henry, Sally and Mary Higgins, Leah and Nicholas Blakemore, Nick Van Der Poel, Jack Bannister, Abby Pout, James and Toby Gilmore.

Some Allora swimmers will head for the Darling Downs Regional Swimming Association Championships on March 6-7 and the Clifton carnival on Sunday, March 14.

Allora club championships start on Monday and will be held during four days.

The swimmers are coached by Bill Lacey at Allora and Andrew Fidge at Clifton.
