We're along for the ride at Warwick Rodeo
WHEN Australia's best send the dust flying and hearts racing at the Warwick Gold Cup Campdraft and Rodeo, the Warwick Daily News is there.
The Warwick Gold Cup is regarded as the Melbourne Cup of campdraft competition, attracting competitors from across the country.
The Warwick Rodeo started in 1906, making it Australia's oldest rodeo. It is also considered the toughest.
Every year during the last full week in October more than 30,000 people travel to Warwick to witness the pinnacle of Australian campdraft and rodeo.
The Warwick Daily News is there with them to capture all the action.
We were there in 2013 when one of Australia's greatest cowboys Shane Kenny made a thrilling fight-back from an early fall to win the rope and tie.
We were there when Pete Comiskey claimed the Gold Cup in what many say is the best campdrafting final to be held in Warwick.
Warwick Daily News print editor Kerri Moore said the Warwick Gold Cup Campdraft and Rodeo was more than a sporting event, it was a celebration of the Rose City.
"It really brings the community together and everyone at the Warwick Daily News is proud to be part of what is an amazing week for Warwick," she said.
