Andrew unsure why he is the Jonesy's XI bunny
THE social side is the most important part of the Australia Day Cricket Carnival this weekend, according to Andrew Sullivan who has been nominated by his team as a Batting Bunny.
I am one of the three team originals with Garth Miller and Michael Jones.
We haven't missed a carnival and play with Jonesy's as I am friends with the Jones family and played junior cricket with (the late) Ian Jones.
How many ducks: First-ball duck last year. I was caught on the fence. If it is there, you hit it.
HIGHEST SCORE: 30 for Jonesy's XI, 80 not out in junior cricket.
WHAT IS YOUR BEST SHOT: The slog back over the bowler's head. My technique has gone out the window, I am more a bowler now.
BEST MOMENT: When we won the carnival about seven years ago. Once we got our name on the board at Slade Park, we took our foot off the pedal.
We won't win it again as Father Time is catching up. Our youngest player is Ben 'Butter' Brownlie who is 32 at a guess. We now play for the camaraderie. As an individual, I took 5-9 two years ago.
WHERE DO YOU TRAIN: Sovereign and Horse and Jockey.
WHICH HAS THE TURF WICKET: The Sov.
FAVOURITE BUNNY: Has to be South African batsman Daryll Cullinan who was Warnie's bunny. Warnie had him mentally scarred.
SILLIEST MOMENT: Sledging teammate Tim Sutton for two days straight at a carnival.
Tim fancies himself as a cricketer and should be the team bunny, not me.
