Another boat of asylum seekers intercepted in Aus waters

MORE than 130 illegal immigrants were intercepted in a boat in Australian waters east of Christmas Island as another 36 Sri Lankans were transferred to Nauru.

The 139 possible asylum seekers were intercepted by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority on Tuesday night, and will undergo security and health checks on Christmas Island.

Meanwhile, another 36 Sri Lankans and one Pakistani were transferred from Christmas Island to the processing centre at Nauru on Wednesday night.
