Anzac Day crashes keep Stanthorpe cops on the go

THREE crashes kept Stanthorpe Police busy on the Anzac Day public holiday on Monday.

During the morning, police were called to a crash at Amiens Rd, Thulimbah, where a 25-year-old Taiwanese woman had lost control of the vehicle while driving in wet conditions.

She was uninjured in the crash and driven from the scene by friends.

While returning to Stanthorpe from the first crash police passed a single vehicle crash on the New England Hwy, just north of the railway line at The Summit.

A New South Wales woman who was travelling north toward Warwick lost control of her hire vehicle and crossed opposite lane and crashed into the roadside barrier.

The 27-year-old and her three young children were taken to Stanthorpe Hospital for precaution.

She has since been charged with the driving with a relevant substance and driving without due care and attention, to appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court on May 25.

Police were later called to a third single vehicle crash, reported by another driver, on Amiens Rd just west of Stanthorpe.

The driver was uninjured in the crash in which he lost control of the vehicle and left the road, crashing into some nearby trees.
