APN announces new CEO for Australian Regional Media

APN News and Media has announced a new CEO for the Australian Regional Media division, publisher of this website.

In a statement to the ASX, the board announced Group Operations and Procurement Director Neil Monaghan would replace Warren Bright as CEO.

Board chairman Peter Cosgrove said: "APN believes in a strong future in regional newspapers to provide local news to local communities and our strategy will be clearly focused on meeting this need for our readers and advertisers.''

Mr Monaghan said there was a strong future in regional media.

"We play an integral role in our regions, providing local news and information to our readers and an engaged audience to our advertisers, better than anyone in our markets and will continue to do so long into the future.

"There is no doubt the media landscape is changing, but as a company we are committed to adapting to those changes and delivering for the communities we serve.''
