Applications to open for grants

ROSE City organisations can get a hand with projects that enhance community wellbeing and opportunity with applications for council's General Grants Program opening next Monday

The response to the General Grants program for 2011/2012 was considerable with nearly 60 community organisations seeking assistance through the program over the financial year.

Mayor Peter Blundell offered high praise for the many groups within the region which provide services and activities that benefit the regional community.

"Through this grants program, council is able to acknowledge the tremendous value of strong community groups, community initiatives, activities and projects to the social and economic well-being of our region," Cr Blundell said.

Grants of up to $1000 are up for grabs.

Application forms are available from council offices and libraries, or by telephoning Council in Warwick (46610300) or Stanthorpe (46815500).

Application forms and general information about the General Grants Program, is available at southerndowns.qld.gov.au.
