APRA national finals in 12 days

Horse Power with Gerard Walsh

WARWICK cowboy Mitch Eastwell will be one of the riders to watch in the Warwick Rodeo APRA National Finals when he competes in the first round of the rope and tie in 12 days time.

While campdrafting will start on Monday, October 23, the first rodeo action will be round 1 of the national finals on the Thursday night.

Last season, Mitch won one round at the finals.

He was ahead of his brothers Brock and Wade in APRA standings but in National Rodeo Association standings, Brock is second, Wade 5th and Mitch 11th.

Sprints

THE final round of the Short Circuit Motor Sport Association season will be on at Morgan Park Raceway this weekend.

Jason O'Mara and Chris Balint are the leaders in class from Warwick. Chris headed to Targa Tasmania this year as part of the pit crew for his father, Rob Balint, and Peter Lane in the most famous rally in Australia but this weekend it will be all about success at Morgan Park.

Pony club

WELL done to zone 21 for a successful state championships in pony club at Roma. Our riders were placed in a number of events but most of all they all had a go after qualifying for the championships.

Riders from Warwick, Killarney and Texas represented our area in Roma. One of the events was campdrafting where Eliza Johnstone was a winner.

Full results next week.
