Artist paints a picture of Aboriginal culture

TENTERFIELD artist Rod McIntosh gave locals an opportunity to take home a piece of Aboriginal culture through his acrylic artworks this week.

Mr McIntosh set up shop at the NAIDOC family fun day in Leslie Park.

He started to paint when he was a child and learnt from his mum and older brothers.

"I loved what they were doing," he said

His artwork sells nationally and internationally, highlighting the tribal stories his elders told him when he was a child.

"Each painting tells a story.

"It's all part of my growing up and my culture."

He has held exhibitions recently in Armidale and Ashford and has an upcoming exhibition at Texas.
