Artists to join forces

FOUR Warwick women – all sharing an extraordinary talent for painting – will exhibit their works of art in Toowoomba from the end of this week.

Jennifer Marshall, Colleen Gardener, Jean Heeks and Dawn Marriage will combine their artworks for their “Welcome to the Garden” exhibition, which will coincide with the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.

This isn’t the first exhibition for the group, who held their first combined one last year.

“We only had three weeks last time,” said Mrs Marshall.

“We’re a bit more organised this year!”

The exhibition will run from Friday, September 2, – Monday, September 26, at the Kath Dickson Community Art Space on Ruthven St.

The group of four have a flair for painting flowers and gardens, and all display completely different forms of art.

Mrs Marriage’s expressive contemporary style paintings contrast nicely with Mrs Gardener’s impressionism, Ms Heeks’ delicate water colours and Mrs Marshall’s realism.

The opening night will be held this Friday, September 2, at 6.30pm. Wine will be provided by award winning local winery Golden Grove Estate.

All of the works of art will be available for sale.
