Assumption staff beat the kids

THE staff were too good for the students in the annual Assumption College Pink Stumps Day.

A makeshift pitch was prepared on the rugby league oval at Assumption College for the after school game on Friday.

Sam Gordon was captain of the students in a game against the Jess Faulkner captained staff team.

Brady Retallick was the star for the staff with a hat trick. Past student Carly Cooper was a controversial ring-in for the staff and showed form with the bat.

Christopher Pender bowled well for the winners.

There were some solid performances from the students with a top all-round performance from Liam Duncan.

Bec Anderson showed form with bat and ball for the students and Sarah Tansby was enthusiastic in the field. The event raised $1366 for the McGrath Foundation to go to breast cancer research.

The Broncos Cup for Year 7-10 students starts tomorrow in rugby league and netball with Assumption playing Warwick State High School.

There will be three netball games at Barnes Park and two rugby league games at Collegians after school.
