Gearing up for a big Australia Day in Warwick

AUSTRALIA Day celebrations are set to be huge in Warwick this Sunday.

This year's festival will kick off in Queen's Park at 4pm with face painting, food stalls, music, citizenship ceremony, Australia Day awards ceremony and the grand finale of the spectacular fireworks display.

Musician Eddie Thompson will also return to play a few tunes alongside Melissa Williams.

Acting Mayor Cr Ross Bartley looked forward to better weather conditions than previous years - with celebrations moved to Victoria Park during wet seasons in the past.

At 6pm the annual Citizenship Ceremony will commence followed by words from Australia Day Ambassador Dr Jim Aylward and finally

announce the Australia Day award recipients.

Cr Bartley encouraged everyone from smaller communities such as Killarney, Pratten and Allora to attend the celebrations.
