Australia Day looking 'hot, sweaty' in Warwick

IF YOU'RE heading to the cricket this Australia Day be prepared to pack plenty of ice in the esky.

It's going to be a hot and humid one, although the forecast says it's going to be 34 degrees it's going to feel more like 37 degrees.

Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Chris Joseph said moisture in the air will make conditions quite humid.

"It's going to feel pretty muggy I would expect, it'll be a bit uncomfortable,” he said.

Rain has been predicted for those in Brisbane, but the chance of showers closer to Warwick is a little more slim.

Mr Joseph said there was a 30 per cent chance of rain, so a little bit of rain might fall on Warwick or none at all.

"It's going to be a bit unstable with a trough approaching so there is a chance of a shower or storm on Australia Day,” he said.

"It's just a small chance, I don't think it's going to be a full on storm situation as such because the trough is going to be lying a little further to the west.”

Conditions will stay hot for the rest of the weekend, with 33 degrees predicted for Saturday.

The chance of a rain is also hanging around, with 40 per cent chance of showers.

Mr Joseph said it should be more pleasant on Sunday with a top of 31 degrees.

"The south-easterly winds will come back on Sunday,” he said.
