COMMENT: Australia Day shaping up to be good day for Warwick

PLANNING is gearing up for the Australia Day celebrations this month.

Although more low-key than in previous years, it looks as though the council is working hard to get a good program organised to mark the day.

An early morning breakfast will be followed by entertainment from musicians, including Warwick band, The Grumpies.

This band is a charitable group who generously donate their talents to places like local nursing homes and community events.

It is great to see them again get behind the community and help make Australia Day a day to remember.

Make sure you head down and check them out.

This is also a day to honour the wonderful people of the community who really represent what it is that makes our country so great.

I can't wait to see the list of award winners this year - I do not however envy those with the task of choosing between nominees.
