Australia Day triathlon entries still open

TRIATHLON: There's still time to put your name down for Stanthorpe's Australia Day Triathlon.

The event will return for its fifth year next Thursday, January 26.

Dan Cuthbert is part of the committee organising the triathlon.

Cuthbert encouraged participants to get their entry forms in soon.

He said the day was less about competition and more about having fun and getting active.

"We just need to get people to fill in entry forms," he said.

He said the event was open to all abilities.

He said swim would take place at Stanthorpe Pool, the ride would pass the Stanthorpe State School and the run would pass through Gleeson Park.

The junior category (under-12s) will involve a 4km run, 1km cycle and 100m swim.

The open competitors will face a 400m swim, 10km cycle and 3.5km run.

Entries will be accepted until next Wednesday.

Find Stanthorpe Australia Day Triathlon on Facebook for an entry form.
