Australia happiest place in world

FOR some, it’s a family or friends, for others it’s a sunny day or a walk in the park, but for Warwick resident Jan Walker, life in the saddle is what helps put a smile on her face.

According to a new study, Australians are the happiest people in the world.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released its Better Life Initiative index that compared people in 34 member countries using 11 indicators – such as income, education and health.

As it happens Australia came out as leader of the pack, followed by Canada and Sweden.

The index also takes into consideration questions like, "How satisfied are you with your life?"

The Daily News caught sight of Mrs Walker cycling in the Rose City yesterday with lure coursing dog Jenny June and her husband Len.

The couple regularly cycle kilometres around town and have been known to ride return trips to Dalveen or Pratten.
