Autumn colours appear dazzling to Rose City locals
AUTUMN on the Southern Downs is all about great food and fine wine.
There's something for the ladies to look forward to with the Picnic Races in April.
There's even car racing at Morgan Park on almost every weekend from now on.
It seems that when the leaves begin to change it's when our region really comes alive.
Some of our readers shared their favourite things about autumn on Facebook.
Michelle Wright said she had many fond memories of autumn in Warwick.
"Driving down Guy St, is my fondest memory as a kid," she said.
"The big trees and all the leaves on the ground, we kick our way through them.
"It isn't as picturesque now, as the trees have been trimmed, but we did it last year somewhere out near Yangan," she said.
"It was just beautiful driving into the sun with it glistening through the autumn-coloured leaves."
Jackie Roberson said it was her favourite time of year on the Downs.
"The days are shorter and there's fog on the Condamine," she said.
"Autumn reminds me of big pots of delicious soup and the aroma of fresh bread baking to go with it."
Todd Brown said he loved the transformation of the trees.
"The leaves turning that lovely golden shade is my favourite," he said.
