Auxiliary and rural firefighters combine to put out fire

A CAMPFIRE on the banks of Macintyre Brook is believed to have started a grass fire near Lovells Crossing at 1.30pm Sunday.

Inglewood police said around half a hectare of grass was burnt on land owned by Goondiwindi Regional Council.

"The fire was put out by auxiliary firefighters from Inglewood and Rural Fire Brigade firefighters,” he said.

"It is believed the fire started from a campfire not properly put out on Saturday night.”

There was no damage to property.
