Hockey teams busy at Queen's Park

AFTER a break of three weeks, Warwick Hockey Association grass fixtures started again on Saturday at Queen’s Park.

Wyverns and Harlequins drew 4-all in the first game. In the late game, Saints beat Corinthians/Scots 4-3.

In Toowoomba A3 ladies hockey, Warwick played Red Lions Red on Sunday afternoon on the second (sand) field at Clyde Park and won 2-0.

A feature of the match was a goal off a short corner by Megan Neal in the second half. Warwick had the majority of possession.

Toni Cox coached from the sidelines after being injured in a heated game last week where five Warwick players suffered injuries.

In men’s A2, Jason Miller was a standout as Warwick went down 3-2 to Red Lions Red.

Junior player Luke Roche was the goalkeeper and play solidly in his first appearance at Toowoomba senior level.

Queensland masters player Steve Farrell had a great game at fullback for Warwick. On Thursday, Warwick lost 4-0 in veterans.

Two senior games will again be played on grass at Queen’s Park on Saturday from 2pm.

Prospective new players welcome but must be registered to play games. There is no game fee.
