Allora back road due to open

QUEENSLAND Rail says everything is on track for the Allora back road into Warwick to be re-opened after 5pm tomorrow.

The road has been closed since late on Monday after the rail bridge on Rosehill Rd was damaged when it was struck by a truck transporting an excavator.

Queensland Rail and the Department of Transport and Main Roads immediately cordoned off the bridge for safety reasons and diverted traffic.

The driver of the truck or its owner could be fined up to $8800 and hit with the bridge repair bill.

The driver was taken to hospital for observation on Monday evening after the excavator tipped off the trailer during recovery.

He was in the cabin of the machine at the time.

Detours along Oehlmann and Ogilvie Rds and along Lyndhurst Lane remain in place today, with heavy vehicle operators reminded Lyndhurst Lane has a 12-tonne load limit.

The Daily News will post on our Facebook page and on our website if the expected road re-opening time changes.
