Balloonist's eye view through fog

THE latest UFO mystery has been solved.

On Saturday, July 11, the Daily News was inundated with calls from Rose City residents who claimed to have seen an unidentified flying object in our wintry morning sky.

However, in true Area 51 fashion, the sighting was a balloon - but this time it was not of the weather kind.

Winter is said to be the best time of year to hot-air balloon - so don't let the cool weather put you off. Floating Images pilot Graeme Day flew passengers from our region keen to see a bird's eye view over the Southern Downs, and today shares his amazing photos with readers.

Mr Day said it was a chilly for take off and landing but the weather makes for perfect viewing conditions.

“It was a cold morning but visibility was great,” Mr Day said.

“As the morning progressed, it was spectacular to see the fog creep back away from the patchwork hills.”
