Bank on a bumper Ag Show program

FINAL preparations are being made today for what is expected to be a bumper crowd at the Heritage Bank Ag Show.

The Vanderfield crew was hard at work readying their exhibition site at the Toowoomba Showgrounds for the event which kicks off tomorrow morning.

Ag Show CEO Damon Phillips said a week of perfect weather meant the extensive site was ready for the three-day event.

"After the Toowoomba Show this year, I learned the weather makes a big difference to the number of people through the gates," he laughed.

A major drawcard for this year's event has been the international trade opportunities, as well as the accredited campdraft competition which will take place in the main arena.

"The campdraft has been an excellent addition to the program," Mr Phillips said.

"The nominations sold out in about the first 30 minutes so it's hugely popular.

"We have received 150 nominations."

The campdraft is a first for the annual Ag Show and has up for grabs more than $8000 in prize money and trophies.

The Heritage Bank Ag Show officially opens tomorrow at 8.30am at the Toowoomba Showgrounds.

Gates are open from 8.30am to 5pm tomorrow and Wednesday and 8.30am and 4pm on Thursday.

Entry is $5 and children younger than 13 years have free entry.
