Barry O'Farrell to front corruption inquiry
NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell will front a corruption hearing in Sydney on Tuesday morning following unexpected "developments" in the Australian Water Holdings inquiry.
The shock announcement was made at Monday's hearing, during which counsel assisting Geoffrey Watson, told the commission the summons had become "necessary".
It was not made clear why ICAC, which is investigating the awarding of government contracts to the Obeid-linked company, would hear from Mr O'Farrell.
He told the Daily Telegraph he respected the ICAC process and didn't wish to "pre-empt any of the matters of any of the questions it may put to me".
