Bartley elected Deputy Mayor

BREAKING, 9.30AM: POPULAR councillor Ross Bartley has been elected Deputy Mayor at the first meeting of the Southern Downs Regional Council in its new term this morning.

Cr Bartley and Cr Jo McNally were the hot favourites for the deputy's spot, with Cr McNally topping the poll and Cr Bartley coming second.

Committee memberships will also be determined at today's meeting.
