Battle at historic meeting

THE battle between Mark Trenoweth and Fred Sayers will be one of the highlights of the Historic Race Meeting this weekend at Morgan Park Raceway.

Some of the most loved cars in Australia will be in a total field of 247, including 75 from interstate.

There are 39 races on the weekend as well as qualifying tomorrow morning.

Sayers is a long-time member of event organisers, the Queensland Historic Racing Car Club, and will race in a Leyland Mini Clubman GT.

He has donated a perpetual trophy for the group U sports sedan class but won’t have a chance himself unless he can beat Trenoweth in a Jaguar XJS Sports Sedan.
