Battle in the pool

HAMILTON House was victorious at the Warwick State High School swimming carnival yesterday.

The red devils won the annual event at WIRAC yesterday, edging out Barnes, Cunningham and Leslie houses.

The students turned out in force, wearing their house colours with pride.

With typical school spirit, the students spent the day cheering loudly for their houses while competitors waited nervously for their races to begin.

Many students competed in a variety of races. The winners were presented with their awards in a presentation that concluded the first sports carnival of the year for the school.

Carnival results will published in Tuesday's paper.

Members of the student council hosted a stall as a fundraiser. Students, including Tahlia Millard and Rebecca Jones, helped out serving snow cones. The stall was popular with all who attended and especially the students.

All of the students participated enthusiastically in the carnival, either by competing or supporting their fellow students making the day one to remember.
