Battle of the quicks: Who will replace Mitch Johnson?
IT is time for the fans to offer a bit of advice to the Australian Cricket Selectors.
Who should replace the retired Mitch Johnson as the third paceman in the Australian XI?
There are no Queenslanders currently in the mix so no need to worry about pushing for a Queenslander.
The selectors may avoid the choice for the Adelaide Test against New Zealand if they go for a second spinner but the reality is the decision between Peter Siddle and James Pattinson won't be an easy one.
Siddle was unlucky to miss the first two Tests of the current series after being the best bowler later in the Ashes while Pattinson has impressed a lot of good judges down the years in between injury breaks.
It would seem at least for the next couple of Tests Josh Hazlewood, unless rested, will be the second paceman in support of trump card Mitchell Starc who bowled the fastest recorded ball in history for Australia against New Zealand in Perth this week.
