Bazz and the runt pup Pistol who became his best mate

BAZZ Perks and his "great little mate” Pistol were arm-in-arm this morning at the Warwick Pig and Calf Sale.

"He comes with me everywhere,” Mr Perks said.

"He's a bit spoilt.”

Their mateship began back in 2015 when Bazz's brother-in-law was breeding a litter of cavalier king charles cross shih tzu puppies.

Pistol was the runt of the litter of five puppies.

It was his wife Sheila who picked the puppy out and Bazz was none the wiser until he received a call from his brother-in-law a month later when the dog was ready to be picked up.

"I said to him, what frikken dog?” he said.

"We drove to Newcastle to pick him up and that was that.”

"He's my great little guy.”

The trio spend their time going to country music gigs and driving around in their van.

"He makes friends with everyone,” Mr Perks said.

"He doesn't growl or bite and he's great around kids.”
