BBB Orienteering Club wins state event
ORIENTEERING: Six members of the Bullecourt Boulder Bounders Orienteering Club have joined together to win the state relays competition.
The Queensland Orienteering Club Relays event at the weekend pitted clubs across the state against each other at Griffith University.
The Fidge brothers, Jaiden and Cayleb, and Simeon Burrill were all winners in their age group in state relays.
Philip, Alison and Marion Burrill also performed well to give the BBB club 31 points in the competition.
The state winner is determined by points per member and the 31 points secured by the BBB club was equal to the number of members, giving Warwick one point per member and victory against four other clubs from Queensland.
The BBB club includes members from the Warwick and Stanthorpe areas with more than half of the club events in perfect orienteering country on the Granite Belt. Information on orienteering from Liz Bourne on 46836374.
