Beanie show makes festival visit
WARWICKITES are not the only ones who embrace their love of textiles for a quirky festival each year.
In Alice Springs, woolly head warmers are the heroes for the annual Beanie Festival, which has been running for 14 years.
The travelling beanie exhibition has made the Warwick Art Gallery its home until August 7.
Gallery assistant Loretta Grayson said the weird and wonderful creations were a big hit.
“It’s been popular, we have had school groups coming through and the kids really like them,” she said.
“We thought this suited really well, we have our quirky tree jumpers they have there beanies.”
