Behind the bar with the Condy crew
I've been the chef here at the Condamine Sports Club for four years and I was at the golf club for three and a half years before that.
I've been in Warwick since 1995 and while completing my apprenticeship I worked at numerous venues in Brisbane and also at Ruperts, the Gunyah and Cherrabah locally.
I do enjoy working here, it's a great working environment, I've got six good staff with me in the kitchen and the fact we're one of the busier venues in town really helps.
It's not unusual to have 150 people come through the place on Wednesdays for T-bone night, it can get pretty hectic.
I'm the manager and do a bit of everything, whatever's needed.
I was originally sent here by a Brisbane management company to manage the Condamine Sports Club for three months.
That was 14 years ago.
They asked me to stay on and I liked the town and the people so I moved the family up here and here we stay.
There are 32 staff over the two venues and it's a great organisation, not only for the five sporting clubs that own it, but also the whole community.
I'm a duty manager here and look after the pokies area and reception.
I started here in 1997, but took three years off in 2006 for health reasons.
I really love the job, well I keep coming back every day.
I've made some great friends working and the work itself is interesting.
I can't see myself leaving, unless they fire me...which won't happen.
When I'm not here I like spending time with my grandkids.
I originally worked at the Condy from 1997 to 2001 before moving to Toowoomba.
I've been back in Warwick and working here for about three years and I'm currently a duty manager and look after everything.
I'm also the functions manager for the Hawker Road Function Centre, which is a great job.
It's always different, I'm looking after weddings, parties, birthdays, work Christmas parties, a whole range of events.
