Bek misses out on finals spot

BRISBANE girl Rebekah Gilchrist has missed out on the Biggest Loser finale by the narrowest of margins.

The 26-year-old was eliminated tonight, just missing out on a Top 4 berth in the last week before the show's grand finale.

"It was definitely sad not to make it all the way, but at the end of the day I'm so happy with my accomplishments. That's my prize," she said.

The bubbly blonde is looking at the bright side that she at least got to go to Switzerland for the weight-loss show's face-your-fears week.

"It was one of the biggest highlights of the entire adventure," she said.

"It was a very emotional journey for me.

"I'm such an animated person that Switzerland had a calming effect. It was almost a spiritual experience."

Gilchrist was one of five eliminated contestants to battle her way back into the competition, much to the frustration of the other contestants.

But after losing the least amount of weight in tonight's weigh-in, she was not surprised by her elimination.

"It was my worst week (of weight loss) so it was definitely the fair thing for me to go home," she said.

"I had been doing so well in terms of challenges and weight loss. I like to think I was a threat (laughs)."

Gilchrist started the show weighing 126.3kg and at the time of her second elimination she had lost a whopping 44kg.

Back home in Toowong, Gilchrist has been working hard to get to her goal weight by finale.

"Those last few kilograms are the hardest to work off," she said.

"It's going to be difficult to realise my goal but I've got such a great support network."

She hopes fellow eliminated contestant Brenda Hunt, with whom she has been training since they both re-entered the competition, takes out the 2012 Biggest Loser title.

"I would love to see her come out firing and prove to everyone that she can do it," she said

"And if not Brenda then I would love to see Margie (Cummins) win. We met at auditions, and we'll forever be friends."

The Biggest Loser airs Monday to Thursday at 7pm and Sunday at 6.30pm on Ten.
