Best Grand Historic Auto Display to date at J and J
JOHN Sorraghan rated the exhibition of vehicles and bikes at today’s Grand Historic Auto Display the biggest yet at Jumpers and Jazz in July.
There were so many vehicles, some ended up being parked south of the monument in Palmerin St as well as from the monument north to Fitzroy St.
“I contacted a few car clubs in Brisbane about bringing cars and it worked,” Mr Sorraghan said.
“I enjoy bringing my cars to Jumpers and Jazz.
“I raced cars for 50 years and sold my race car three years ago and bought an MG to keep my hand in.”
He is part of the Warwick Veteran and Vintage Vehicle Club and said he would like to see more young people involved in the club.
Mr Sorraghan is originally from Shepparton in Victoria but has lived in Warwick for nine years.
MG owner Greg Newey said there were 101 cars and 14 bikes in the display.
“RACQ was the major sponsor. Organisers had great assistance from various car groups and the SES,” he said
Mr Sorraghan, Mr Newey, John McLean, Cr Yve Stocks, Mikey Dwan and Rob Hamilton were the display organising committee.
