Best on the Downs step up for Mustangs selection
THE cream of the region's young rugby league talent was on display at Warwick's junior rugby league grounds today as they put their best foot forward for South West Mustangs selection.
Teams from far afield made the journey to the Rose City, including the South West Stockmen, Toowoomba Clydesdales and Warwick Chargers, all vying for a spot in three age group representative teams, under 13, under 14 and under 16 in both boys and girls teams.
Four Collegians players were successful in making the Mustangs side, Rielly Byrne, Jacob Gross, Cooper Tate-Roche and Carlos Smith.
These player will now front up for the Mustangs as they take on the best from central Queensland to form the Queensland Crows team.
From there the Central Crows will take on sides from north Queensland and southeast Queensland with players looking for selection in a state squad.
The selection trials replaced fixtures football for the day .
