WHEN John Stedman was down on his luck and out of a job, he turned to BEST employment to get the help and support he needed to find himself some work.

The Mt Marshall resident was going through a tough time personally and was looking for work to take the pressure off.

"I was seeing a consultant with Partners in Recovery and she suggested to help me with a few of my personal problems to let go of one agency and go to BEST employment," he said.

"They have the services and counselling and support I needed - they really helped me a lot."

After a month of part-time work at the Kahler's Oasis Caravan Park, Mr Stedman has picked himself up and is feeling much better than before.

"My job is a combination of groundsman and janitor," he said.

"I enjoy the shorter hours - it frees up your own time."

Kahler's Oasis Caravan Park owner Tony Kahler said hiring John was the first time they had used BEST Employment and they were happy with the result.

"We had worked with other employment agencies in the past but they couldn't find us anyone suitable," he said.

"BEST did a great job at finding a suitable gentleman for us."

Working with Dan McQueen from BEST employment, the Kahlers were able to find a group of suitable candidates and John was chosen as the best man for the job.

"John has worked out well," Mr Kahler said.

"He's got a great interaction with our customers and with us - he does a good job."

For Mr McQueen it was great to see the success of this particular job match.

"When I'm working with employers I like to take a deeper look to see what makes the business tick," he said.

"We remain in contact with both the employer and employee after they are hired - we see it through.

"It's going really well for them - John's been a great match for the role."

BEST Employment is now working on up-skilling Mr Stedman in his new role, providing him with any training he may need to continue his employability.

Mr Stedman praised BEST for their efforts. "They really match the right person for the right job," he said.
