Best sprint numbers of year so far at raceway
MOTORSPORT: There are 123 nominations for round 2 of the B series Queensland Super Sprints at Morgan Park Raceway this weekend.
Club treasurer Michael Reynolds said the number of cars sprinting around the track would be the highest of the year so far.
"Drivers booked in for the whole year but there will be very few missing this weekend,” he said.
Racing is from 8.30am Saturday and 8am Sunday.
The last cars will be on the track around 1.30pm Sunday.
After this weekend, there will be a break of two weeks while some minor track repairs are done and the bridge is repainted.
Reynolds said the club was not running for a fortnight due to Jumpers and Jazz.
"We are keen to get ready for the Superbikes in late August, which will be the biggest meeting of the year,” he said.
The next meeting at the track will be a Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland meeting on August 5-6.
As always, there is free admission to the Super Sprints and the canteen will be open all weekend.
